The mission of the Fulton Housing Authority is, "To improve the quality of life for citiens in our community, we will provide adequate and affordable housing and a suitable living environment without discrimination for low-income and very low-income families, persons with disabilities or the elderly.
We will strive to provide outreach and human services essential to promoting self-sufficiency through the extension of basic services."

Public Housing

The Fulton Housing Authority receives its operating subsidy (funding) for the public housing program from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The FHA is not a federal agency. The FHA is created and authorized by state law to operate and develop housing and housing programs for low-income families.

The FHA must ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations and notices and must establish policies and procedures to clarify these requirements and to ensure consistency in program operation.Read more

Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8)

HCV or Section 8 exists to provide housing solutions for low income families. The program provides families with a certificate or voucher that allows them to lease an apartment or home from a landlord who accepts the voucher. Read more
